Police looking for witnesses after stabbing at bar near Ottawa IKEA

A man is recovering after an altercation led to him being stabbed at a bar over the weekend.

According to police, officers were called at around 1:00 a.m. to the 1100 block of Baxter Road, near the Ottawa IKEA, to a local bar. During the incident, one man was stabbed on Feb. 15.

Police are looking for anyone who could have information about this incident. They released images of people they believed could have seen what happened and were able to identify two of them.

Another stabbing incident on Saturday

Later that same day police were called to another stabbing where the victim, Omar Jonathan Grant, succumbed to his injuries.

The incident occurred on Feb. 15., shortly after 9:25 p.m. from the 500 block of St. Laurent Blvd. Officerss found Grant with serious injuries.

Jacob Blanchard, 25, appeared in court Monday morning charged with second-degree murder and assault with a weapon. He was remanded into custody awaiting a hearing.

A warrant has also been issued for the arrest of 25-year-old Samuel Laurin-Gauvreau for second-degree murder and assault with a weapon.
