Student charged after assault at an Arnprior high school

Ontario Provincial Police from the Renfrew Detachment laid charges in an assault investigation that took place at a high school last week.

Officers responded to an Arnprior, Ont. high school on Feb. 28 at around 10:20 a.m. for two assaults. Police said a physical altercation broke out in a classroom where one student and teacher were struck by another student.

As a result a 16-year-old was charged with two counts of assault.

They cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Officials say the teen was released from custody and is set to appear at a Pembroke court.
