Ten people facing more than 50 charges in Ottawa drug trafficking case

Provincial police busted a large drug ring and charged 10 people with dozens of offences in Ottawa and the surrounding area.

The investigation began in late 2024, led by the Ontario Provincial Police’s (OPP) guns and gangs team. It started in the nation’s capital and saw officers bring in the Sûreté du Québec, Ottawa Police Service, Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau and Canada Border Services Agency.

Several police forces in the area executed six search warrants on homes in Ottawa, Gatineau and Renfrew, Ont. and three vehicles were searched.

Drugs, with an estimated street value of around $113,000, Canadian currency and guns were taken from the locations.

There are 10 people charged in connection to the investigation they face offences such as obtained by crime over $5,000, drug and gun charges and trafficking offences. The accused range in age from 27 to 65.
