Two men attach cardboard licence plate on vehicle resulting in charges

Police officers from the Lanark detachment of the provincial force found a vehicle in a drive-thru in Carleton Place with a cardboard licence plate.

Officers were responding to a restaurant in the area on March 20 around 12:45 a.m. for a disturbance. Once there they found a vehicle sporting a “homemade” licence plate. Two men were arrested at the scene.

However, once officers searched the vehicle they laid several more charges to the accused. In the vehicle, police found 23 grams of suspected cocaine, 37 pills believed to be MDMA, a replica firearm and drug-related paraphernalia.

As a result Kevin Langlois, 42, of Kingston, Ont., was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – two counts
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
  • Use an altered licence plate

Dillon Mullin-Begin, 30, of Ottawa faces:

  •  Possession of a Schedule I substance – two counts
  • Fail to comply with a probation order

Both were held for a bail hearing that was scheduled March 20 in Perth.
