Crews tackle flames on Preston Street; one firefighter injured

A firefighter was injured tackling a building in flames early Tuesday morning in the Centretown West community.

Teams were called at 4:32 a.m. to the 300 block of Preston Street where a single-family home was on fire. Crews could see flames from the building and dispatched more resources at 4:35 a.m.

A fast-attack on the flames had firefighters bringing a hose inside the building while another team searched for people.

During this incident one firefighters sustained a minor injury.

Crews were able to declare the situation under control by 4:45 a.m. An Ottawa fire investigator was dispatched to the scene.
