The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they stopped and charged two drivers with stunt driving in west Ottawa.

They were caught on Highway 417 near Galleta Side Road, which is a 110 km/h stretch of the roadway.

Both drivers were caught travelling over 150 km/h, which is the legislated speed for stunt driving.

One was travelling at 153 km/h while the other was speeding at 160 km/h, according to images provided by OPP.

The suspects received a 30-day license suspension and their vehicles have been impounded for 14 days.

They also face at minimum a $2,000 fine, six demerit points and could receive a one-year driving ban if convicted.

Police urge drivers to slow down and drive safely.
