OPS Marine Unit search for missing man believed to have gone in water

The Ottawa Police Service Marine Dive and Trails Unit and Ottawa Fire are continuing to search for a missing man who was believed to have gone into the water.

Emergency services were called to a portion of the Ottawa River on Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway and Sandridge Road Saturday at approximately 9:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a missing man.

Police say an extensive search operation took place overnight, but nobody was located in the water or in the surrounding area.

The search operation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 613-236-1222.
