Emergency responders were called to dozens of collisions and incidents across Ottawa on Tuesday as snow fell in the region.
Fire crews said they were sent to 50 vehicle crashes since 6:00 a.m. One of the incidents required teams to extricate people from an SUV.

More than 10 centimetres of snow fell on the nation’s capital in a spring snowstorm that continued well into Tuesday.
Accidents include a collision between Carling and Island Park, causing gridlock conditions in both directions on the Kichi Zībī Mīkan Parkway, reported Ottawa Police Service.
The force said it responded to 52 collisions between midnight and 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) told CityNews that officers responded to approximately 50 collisions between midnight and 6 a.m.
Police later said in a post on X that no serious injuries happened.
“All of these collisions could have been prevented by slowing down and driving according to weather conditions,” the post reads. “Summer tires this early in April is likely not a great idea either.”
