74-year-old charged in intimate partner violence case

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid multiple charges in two intimate partner violence cases in the last several days.
One of the investigations led officers to a home in Lanark Highlands Township, north of Perth, Ont., on April 18. There, police charged a 74-year-old from the area with assault and three counts of overcome resistance by choking.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

A day later OPP laid charges in another case of intimate partner violence.
Officers responded to a disturbance at a home in Lanark Highlands Township, where the accused left the residence before police arrived. After a search the individual was arrested.
The 44-year-old was charged with mischief, assault and flight from peace officer.
They were also released from custody and are expected in a court at a later date.
