Fence fire prompts response from crews

Ottawa firefighters were called to a residential block in the Somerset area for a small blaze.
Callers reported the fire at 1:54 p.m. on Wednesday, saying that there were flames coming from a fence. When teams arrived at the two-storey home in the 0-100 block of Percy Street, they found fire crawling up the side and a small building off the home engulfed.
Additional teams arrived as crews initiated a fast attack on the structure. They searched the home and found no people inside.
The fire was declared under control about an hour later at 2:53 p.m.
An investigator was dispatched to the scene to find how the fire started.
