Hard Rock Hotel and Casino hosting event before official public opening

Over a week before the doors are set to open to the public, Ottawa’s highly anticipated Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will welcome fans of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) for a special event.
The PWHL draft is being held on June 24 inside the new Hard Rock Live, a performance venue with a capacity of 2,200 people. The draft will kick off at 7:00 p.m. and can be watched on the PWHL YouTube Channel.
This opportunity also allows fans of the PWHL to see the building up close through a free event held by the league called Draft Fan Fest. It’s set to kick off at 3:00 p.m. and will have a DJ, entertainment, merchandise kiosks, food trucks and more.
Fans will have the chance to welcome players and guests on the purple carpet at 5:30 p.m. The draft itself is sold out, but tickets are not needed for Fan Fest, a press release from the league reads.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa will finally welcome guests on July 3.
Located in Gloucester, people will experience gaming and dining options as well as a nightlife experience accompanied by live entertainment.
The order of selection for the first round of the 2025 PWHL Draft is as follows:
- New York Sirens (Most Draft Order Points in ‘Gold Plan’)
- Boston Fleet (Non-Playoff Team)
- Toronto Sceptres (Lowest Ranked Playoff Semifinalist)
- Montréal Victoire (Highest Ranked Playoff Semifinalist)
- Ottawa Charge (PWHL Finalist)
- Minnesota Frost (PWHL Champion)
- PWHL Vancouver*
- PWHL Seattle*
A draw will be done to determine which first-order round expansion team will go first.
