Man charged in connection to stabbing of two people

Police say a three people were drinking together before a fight broke out and one person stabbed the other two.

It happened July 12 around 11:45 p.m., in the community of Wateridge Village, east of downtown Ottawa. The incident took place in the 200 block of Bareille Snow Street.

Officers said the suspect in the altercation stabbed both victims before running away from the scene. Paramedics were called in to treat both victims on scene before they were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police found the suspect a short time after and arrested him.

As a result, Patrick Drezler, 29, is facing offences of:

  • Assault causing bodily harm (x2)
  • Assault with a weapon (x2)
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Failure to comply with a release order

Officials are looking for people to come forward with information on the incident.
