Driver stopped just hours after receiving license suspension

An Ottawa driver is now facing an additional $2,000 fine for driving with a suspended licence.

The driver was stopped Monday afternoon after receiving their court ordered licence suspension earlier that morning.

“The driver, who thought he could drive the car home, now faces a minimum $2,000 fine,” OPP wrote in a post on X.

OPP are crediting their Automated Licence Plate Recognition technology (ALPR) which informed officers that the driver was under a suspension.
