Two people arrested in connection with a downtown demonstration

Police said that two people are in custody in connection with a demonstration in downtown Ottawa on Monday.

According to officials, no charges have been laid; just two people arrested.

The demonstration is taking place in the Wellington and O’Connor streets area, and there will be an increased police presence. Officers did not detail the reasons for the protest, but did remind people to be respectful.

“Reminder: Freedom of expression has reasonable limits to protect citizens, property and businesses from disruptive or unlawful activities,” police said in a post.

This is a developing story. More to come.
