Suspicious death investigation launched after man found dead in Manor Park

Police and paramedics were called to a street in one of Ottawa’s eastern communities for a dead man found outside a residence.

According to paramedics, they responded at 8:15 a.m. to the investigation in the 400 block of Meadow Park, across the street from a cemetery in the Manor Park neighbourhood. They found the man outside a house.

When emergency responders arrived, the 21-year-old man was dead, a press release from police hours later explains. The death is being treated as “criminally suspicious,” officers said.

The victim’s name is not being released until an autopsy and next of kin are completed.

Officials have not called this a homicide.

Police are asking anyone with information about this to contact them. They are also urging people to come forward if they have dashcam footage from Aviation Pathway in between Hemlock Road and Montreal Road between 7:00 p.m. Oct. 21 and 7:00 a.m. Oct. 22.

The Homicide Unit can be reached at 613-236-1222, at extension 5493.
