Ottawa man facing multiple sexual assault charges

Police laid several charges against a man in connection with sexual offences after a complaint in Russell County.

In a press release, officers said they were following an investigation after receiving a complaint of possible sexual assault on Nov. 3. While looking into the details, they found the suspect in Ottawa a few days later.

After the investigation, provincial police from the Russell detachment are charging Damien Turcotte.

The 42-year-old is facing offences of:

  • Sexual assault
  • Sexual interference
  • Invitation to sexual touching
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Fail to comply with prohibition order

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody police said.

They did not detail further information about the case or if there was more than one victim.
