3 suspects wanted after ‘aggressive’ thefts from Walmart stores in Ottawa

Ottawa police are asking the public for help after several “aggressive” thefts where employees were assaulted in the nation’s capital.

In a press release, officials said they are looking to identify three people who are wanted in connection with a series of retail thefts from Walmart stores across the city. Officers said in multiple cases, when the suspects were confronted by employees of the store, they became aggressive and assaults on staff were reported.

Officials said they are concerned “about the escalating behaviour” and the risk to employees and the public.

In an email to CityNews, police noted that the main concern was the behaviour, saying no weapons were involved in the thefts. They noted that the incidents have been happening since December.

“But they (suspects) were active as of Jan 11, 2025, in stores, but did not steal anything,” a spokesperson noted.

Employees and the public are being reminded not to intervene during thefts, police said.

Anyone with information related to these incidents or the identities of the suspects is asked to contact the Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5116, or email robbery@ottawapolice.ca
