Frugal hydro customers could get dinged with rate hike

OTTAWA – Frugal hydro customers could get hit with a rate increase next year.

Hydro Ottawa has applied for a new rate structure, which would see a higher delivery fee if your usage is under the average kWh per month.

The delivery rate for the average customer would go up slightly, under a penny a day, while those who conserve, would see their rate go up about eight cents a day.

Those with above average usage would see their delivery charge go down.
