Kanata Montessori School fire considered suspicious

OTTAWA – There is no word on what caused a fire overnight at the Kanata Montessori School.
Around 12:15 a.m. Monday, crew’s received a 911 call reporting trees on fire near Terrence Matthews Drive.
When crews arrived, they found fire conditions in a portable building at 355 Cowpland Drive, and a working fire was declared a few minutes later.
The fire was under control at 12:47 a.m.
Police tell 1310 NEWS, the fire is being treated as suspicious but the arson unit has not yet been assigned to the case.
Damage is pegged at $50,000 and there were no injuries.
