Shawn Pankow is lone mayoral candidate in Smiths Falls as nomination deadline nears

If anyone plans to challenge Shawn Pankow for the mayor seat in Smiths Falls, time is running out.

The deadline for all municipal candidates to declare is Friday, August 19, by 2 p.m., and so far, Pankow is running uncontested.

Pankow was first elected as mayor in 2014 after serving one term on town council.

As for council, there are four candidates in the running at this point, including Linda Mae Bradford, Jennifer Miller, Chance Lauziere-Petersen and Jay Brennan.

Municipal election day is set for Monday, October 24, 2022.
