UPDATE: Possibly injured bear settled in Barrhaven neighbourhood, police awaiting MNR input

UPDATE: Ottawa police say a bear has settled into a resident’s backyard in Barrhaven.
Officers say Earl Mulligan Drive is closed between Woodroffe Avenue and Woodgate Way to keep the area safe and limit disturbance to the bear.
The bear appears to be injured and police are awaiting input from the ministry of natural resources for further direction.

Stittsville residents are being asked to avoid the area of Terry Fox Drive, between Cope Drive and Castlefrank Road, after a bear was spotted in that area.
Police released a statement on Twitter Sunday night that said a bear had been spotted several times.
Residents are being asked to use caution when outside, especially with small pets.
