Bridgeport Islanders ride 4-goal 1st period to win over Toronto Marlies

TORONTO — The Bridgeport Islanders scored four times in the first period in a 5-1 victory over the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League Saturday.
Cory Schneider made 39 saves to lead Bridgeport (26-25-6-4) to a third victory in a row.
Grant Hutton and Arnaud Durandeau each scored once and added an assist for the Islanders. Simon Holmstrom, Jeff Kubiak and Andy Andreoff got the other goals. Cole Bardreau chipped in with two assists.
Nick Robertson was the lone scorer for Toronto (30-23-3-1). Keith Petruzzelli gave up four goals on eight shots in the first period. Michael Hutchinson stopped 21-of-22 shots in relief.
Both teams went 0 for 2 on the power play.
Toronto lost both contests against the Islanders this season.
