Eight people arrested in Aylmer drug bust; fentanyl, weapons, $12,500 among list of items seized

Gatineau Police have arrested eight people a they dismantled a drug trafficking ring selling fentanyl, cocaine and other illegal drugs, as well as weapons.
The investigation started a few weeks ago when they received information from the public.
Two residences and two residential units in the Aylmer area were searched:
- 70 Madiran St.
- 87 Lucerne Blvd.
- 10 Heritage St. Apt. B
Police also searched a residence at 223 Promenade Road in Val-des-Monts in collaboration with the Ottawa Police.
The bust found and seized:
- 115 grams of cocaine
- 237.7 grams of illegal cannabis
- 28 grams of hashish
- 1,000 speed tablets
- 3 grams of wax
- 20.6 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms)
- 36 bags of cannabis-infused chocolate
- 93 bags of cannabis-infused candy
- 226.7 grams of methamphetamine
- A small amount of fentanyl
- A functional electric pulse weapon
- A retractable stick
- A machete
- An air weapon
- A pellet gun
- Various ammunition
- Various items related to the sale of narcotics
- $12,500 in Canadian currency
All eight people were released on a promise to appear.
Drug trafficking charges will be referred to the director of public prosecutions.
