OPP charge driver with possession of handgun and illegal drugs

The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a driver with possession of a loaded handgun and illegal drugs.
On June 5, 2022, shortly before 4:00 a.m., OPP officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked on McDougald Street East and near a closed business in the Alexandria North Glengarry township
Dylan Saunders, 26, of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of firearm at unauthorized place
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a schedule I substance- cocaine
The accused was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date.
