Rachel Homan and her Ottawa-based club are sweeping into the playoffs at the WFG Masters.
Homan, who had already qualified for the quarterfinals, completed an undefeated 4-0 run through pool play following a 7-2 victory over Winnipeg’s Team Chelsea Carey during Draw 13 on Friday, Dec. 9 at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.
Carey wrapped up at 2-2 and now awaits the results of the remaining draws on tap Friday to find out her team’s fate.
Although Carey got on the board first with a deuce in the opening frame, it was all Homan from there as the 12-time Grand Slam women’s champion matched with a pair of points in the second, stole two in the third and singles in three consecutive ends.
Homan is now riding a 13-game winning streak after capturing the HearingLife Tour Challenge in October and running the table at the Red Deer Curling Classic last month.
Elsewhere in Draw 13, South Korea’s Team Eun-Ji Kim clinched a playoff spot at 3-1 with an 8-4 win against Switzerland’s Team Michele Jäggi (2-2).
Sweden’s Team Anna Hasselborg (2-2) drew their record level by eliminating compatriots Team Isabella Wrana (1-3) in a 7-3 decision.
Team Casey Scheidegger of Lethbridge, Alta., also finished the round-robin at 2-2 with a 6-2 victory over Switzerland’s Team Silvana Tirinzoni (0-4).
