Two people rescued after boating accident on Ottawa River

Two people were brought safely to shore after a boating accident on the Ottawa River on Sunday.

Around 9:30 p.m., the Ottawa Fire Services responded to an area near the Nepean Sailing Club after a 911 call reporting a boat that had hit some rocks in the rapids and was slowly taking on water.

Two adults, who were both wearing life jackets, were rescued from the boat by Ottawa and Gatineau water rescue crews.

They were brought to shore on the Gatineau side and there were no injuries reported.
