Hundreds without power in Vanier

Update: According to Hydro Ottawa, power has been restored in the Vanier area, and they said “we are no longer experiencing any known power outages at this time.”

Hundreds of customers are without power near the intersection of Montreal Rd and St Laurent Boulevard this morning.

Hydro Ottawa says that a power outage in the Vanier area has left 684 customers without power. There is no word on the cause of the outage yet, and according to a media release, Hydro Ottawa crews are responding.

The power isn't expected to be back on until 5:30 p.m., according to Hydro Ottawa's website.
