Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) hopes to recruit more nurses with a $25,000 grant.
According to an Aug. 31 memo, nurses who have not been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months before starting at ARH are eligible.
The grant, which will go to eight nurses, was made possible through the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN).
“Nursing recruitment has been an extraordinary challenge for Ontario hospitals and long-term care homes, and it has been a strategic focus at the provincial, regional and local levels,” said Leah Levesque, president and chief executive officer (CEO) at ARH.
“We are very pleased to receive the CCPN grants that will be an important recruitment differentiator for us as we continue to focus efforts on recruiting new staff to join our existing team of committed healthcare professionals.”
Those interested in applying must hold a certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario and commit to two years of full-time employment starting no later than March 31, 2024.
Additionally, applicants must not be simultaneously receiving funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.
“Arnprior Regional Health is a special place to work with a long track record of continuous improvement, a commitment to innovation and a dedication to excellent, compassionate care,” shared Andrea McClymont, vice president of human resources at ARH, adding that she hopes the grant will attract nurses to join their team.
The CCPN grant funding will flow through ARH and be paid to each nurse in six instalments over their two-year commitment.
