Gas prices in Ottawa going up on Feb. 8

Ottawa drivers are set to see an increase at the gas pumps tomorrow.

EnPro International said the price of gas is going up three cents on Wednesday, Feb. 8 to an average of $1.439 a litre at most Ottawa gas stations.

Back in June of 2022, the price at the pumps in Ottawa hit a record $2.159 a litre.

The Ontario government tabled legislation that would leave the tax break that cut gas prices by 5.7 cents a litre in place until the end of 2023. The cut first went into effect on July 1 and was originally due to expire on Dec. 31, 2022.
