Ottawa firefighters quickly tackle kitchen fire in Centretown area

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) quickly tackled a kitchen fire in Centretown on Tuesday morning. 

Around 8:51 a.m., firefighters were called to a multi-residential complex north of Cambridge Street, off of Gladstone Avenue and Arlington Avenue, after 911 callers reported black smoke coming from the third floor. 

Crews searched the apartment and ensured no one was inside at the time. The building had to be ventilated.

The fire was under control at 9:13 a.m.

A fire investigator was called to the scene, to determine the cause.
