Porter Airlines is launching direct service to two Florida destinations later this fall.

The airline announced earlier this week that it is starting daily service from the Ottawa International Airport to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando starting in November of 2023.

Fort Lauderdale and Orlando are popular Florida destinations for OttawaGatineau passengers,” said Mark Laroche, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ottawa International Airport Authority. “Whether you’re snowbirds escaping the winter, or a family heading to one of Florida’s many attractions like Magic Kingdom, Porter’s new non-stop service will make getting to the sun and sand more comfortable this winter.”

The Ottawa to Orlando flight begins on Nov. 21 and leaves the Ottawa International Airport daily at 5:30 p.m. and arrive in Orlando at 8:59 p.m.,

The Orlando to Ottawa flight will take off daily from the Orlando International Airport at 4 p.m. and arrive in Canada’s capital at 7:02 p.m.

The Ottawa to Fort Lauderdale service launches on Nov. 30 with the flight will departing Ottawa at 4:45 p.m. daily and arriving in Fort Lauderdale at 8:32 p.m.

“Canadians are used to flying to Florida, but not like this,” said Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer (CCO), Porter Airlines. “Porter’s all-economy onboard service is unmatched by any other carrier in North America. Whether that’s free WiFi, no middle seats, free beer and wine alongside premium snacks, or fresh, healthy food, Porter is challenging the industry’s definition of economy air travel. We believe that time onboard our aircraft is just as important as at the destination.”

The Fort Lauderdale to Ottawa flight will leave Fort Lauderdale daily at 4:30 p.m. and arrive in Ottawa at 7:49 p.m.

Travellers will experience the daily service on Porter’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
