Ottawa firefighters contain garage fire in Navan

There are no injuries reported after a garage fire in Navan.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a home in the 4500 block of Navan Road, between Canary Street and Milton Road, at 7:11 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6.
The homeowner had called 9-1-1 to report their garage on fire with a vehicle inside, while additional 9-1-1 callers reported visible flames.
The homeowner also reported the space was used as a commercial workshop and that there were propane cylinders both inside and outside the garage, and OFS says there were numerous flammables inside the garage.
Responding crews declared the working fire at 19:14 p.m., prior to arriving on location, based on details from emergency callers.
The situation was under control by 7:46 p.m. and firefighters were able to contain the fire before it could spread to the home.
An Ottawa Fire Investigator has been dispatched to the scene to determine the origin and cause.
