Ottawa OPP charge stranded motorist for having open liquor

Charges have been laid after reports of a stranded motorist on Highway 417.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the highway near Carp Road.

Officers located a male driver who was found to be intoxicated by alcohol and had open liquor.

The 23-year-old received a 3-day warning range suspension and was charged for having open liquor.
