Pembroke resident charged with attempted murder in case of intimate partner violence

One person is facing charges after a shooting in Pembroke.

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) at a home on McKenzie Street just before 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A 67-year-old Pembroke resident has been charged attempted murder using a firearm.

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.

Their name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
