Ottawa crews quickly contain kitchen fire in Blossom Park

Victim services is helping those affected by a kitchen fire in Ottawa’s Blossom Park neighbourhood.

Around 2:50 a.m. on Monday, June 23, several 9-1-1 caller reported smoke and fire conditions in one of the units of a residence in the 3500 block of Aladdin Lane.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire in the kitchen of the unit.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the flames to the kitchen area of the home and the fire was declared under control at 3:18 a.m.

The attached neighbouring townhome was checked for any residual smoke and none was found.

An Ottawa Fire Investigator will not be required for this incident.

The Canadian Red Cross and the Salvation Army will both be assisting six people affected.
