A heat warning remains in effect for the Ottawa and surrounding areas.

Environment Canada said Ottawa’s daytime high for Monday, July 15 is 30 C, but with the humidity factored in, it will feel more like 37.

The weather agency adds there will be little relief at night as minimum temperatures are expected to be near 20 C.

The heat warning is in effect for the following areas:

  • Ottawa
  • Smiths Falls
  • Perth
  • Eastern Lanark County
  • Winchester
  • Prescott and Russell
  • Brockville
  • Morrisburg
  • Petawawa – Pembroke – Cobden

People urged to drink lots of water, even before feeling thirsty, limit exposure to the sun and never leave people or pets locked in cars.

A cooler airmass is expected to arrive Tuesday.
