13-year-old caught driving vehicle ‘to get candy’ in Barrhaven

It’s a sight Ottawa police officers could not believe.

Officers from the West B Platoon stopped a slow-moving vehicle on Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven on Thursday morning. Behind the wheel was a 13-year-old with two passengers of similar age.

According to police, the group “wanted to get candy from the gas station.”

Their parents were contacted.
