The Transit Committee heard updates on public transportation ahead of the Federal government’s return to a four-day in-person work week yesterday.

OC Transpo said 10 bus routes may need added capacity to support federal employees returning to in-person work. Federal employee data will be assessed to determine whether increased capacity is needed.

Here are the routes

  • 5 ( Waller to Elmvale)
  • 8 ( Gatineau to Dow’s Lake)
  • 13 (Gatineau to Tunney’s Pasture)
  • 24 (Chapel Hill to St-Laurent)
  • 61 (Tunney’s Pasture and N Rideau to Stittsville)
  • 62 (Tunney’s Pasture to Stittsville)
  • 63 (Innovation/Briarbrook to Tunney’s Pasture
  • 66 (Tunneys Pasture to Innovation)
  • 74 (Limebank to Tunney’s Pasture)

Federal executives resumed a five-day work week back in May, while all other employees will make their return on July 6.

OC Transpo also shared that routes 11, 12, 15, 30, 53, 81, 82 and 168 have been modified to reflect accurate travel times and traffic patterns.

Other updates included confirming that the O-train line one is fully equipped to support summer events and the return to the office. The quarterly O-train stage 2 update confirmed preparations for Trial Running of the East Extension are underway.
