If you’re keen on dying your hair at home, it’s being advised you check the box closely before adding any highlights.
Procter & Gamble announced a voluntary recall of ten shades of Clairol Natural Instincts hair dye Friday, including products on sale in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
The company said it is conducting the recall due to a mismatched ColourFresh Revitalizer satchet in their do-it-yourself kits, that could potentially create an unwated colour if used.
The ColourFresh Revitalizer is designed to give consumers a boost of colour two weeks after the inital dye process, meaning the original colouring would not be affected.
All of the products in the kits pose no physical danger, and the recall is purely for cosmetic reasons.
The shades in question are being removed from store shelves across the country, and consumers with impacted sachets are being advised they can still use everything else in the kit.
Consumers who have purchased a recalled package can also call Clairol for a replacement coupon or a refund.
For anyone who may have used the affected shades, Clairol is offering colour assistance to fix any problems that may have resulted.
