Surrey stabbing victim dies

SURREY (VANCOUVER) – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over a stabbing case in Surrey after one of the young victims died.

Two men were kicking a soccer ball near Frank Hurt High School near 77th and 138th last night when six men approached them. A fight broke out and the two men were stabbed. Corporal Dale Carr says one of them has now died in hospital.

“He’s a 19-year-old Surrey man that lived very nearby. It’s very, very sad that this incident occurred and had to raise to the level of somebody using a knife.”

The six men are said to be Indo-Canadians in their twenties. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
