Is it time yet for snow tires?

As a major storm moves through the north-eastern United States the harsh reality of the coming winter sinks in for Ottawa residents.
Luckily preparations are well underway for the coming winter and Ottawa residents told 1310News they are already planning for treacherous winter driving in the capital.
“I’ve got the car ready for winter, put the winter snow tires on and all that sort of thing,” Pat said.
“I’ve got them but I haven’t put them on yet,” Gord said, adding that his winter tires will be fitted Nov. 7.
“I just got some brand new all seasons so I don’t really plan on putting my old winters on this year,” said Chris.
People are also making use of the sunny, but chilly, weekend to make sure their homes and gardens are set against the coming cold.
Others said they are investing in new coats, hats, boots and scarves while others dig theirs out from garages and basements.
