The Snowsuit Fund – Snow Angel Challenge (2022)

On this week's An Hour To Give, Sam talks with representatives from The Snowsuit Fund about their current fundraising campaign Snow Angel Challenge.
The Snow Angel Challenge is a 28-day winter challenge to get outdoors and experience socially distant winter fun while raising funds and awareness to help The Snowsuit Fund keep Ottawa kids warm.
During the entire month of February, the Ottawa community is once again invited to create snow angels, gather donations and share their efforts on social media.
Last year hundreds of people from across the city made snow angels in their winter gear, bathing suits, costumes, or with their pets, and posted pictures and videos online. Schools, corporate teams, media personalities and local celebrities all got in on the fun. All of their efforts resulted in raising over $50,000, which went directly to the purchase of 1000 new snowsuits.
We know that outdoor play makes a fundamental contribution to maintaining mental health and physical wellbeing as well as supporting ongoing learning and development. Having warm winter gear is a critical component.
