Peterborough ties up Mann Cup series with 15-12 Game 4 win over Langley

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Mark Matthews and Holden Cattoni scored three goals apiece to lead the Peterborough Lakers to a 15-12 win over the Langley Thunder and tie up the Mann Cup series at 2-2 on Tuesday night.

Tied at 3-3 in the first period, Langley took hold of the momentum as Curtis Dickson, Chase Scanlan, and Dane Dobbie scored to put the Western Lacrosse Association champions up 6-3. Shortly after, Matthews and Cattoni would score three of the defending Mann Cup champions' four goals to take the lead early in the second period.

After trailing for much of the second, Langley tied it up at 11-11 just over three minutes into the third on Robert Church's second goal of the night. Again, the Lakers were there to break up the Thunder's momentum, outscoring Langley 4-1 through the rest of the game to secure the win.

Peterborough's Joe Resetarits scored twice and dished out six assists for a game-high eight points, while Shawn Evans handed out six assists and scored once for seven points. Matthews and Cattoni added three assists each.

Dickson scored a game-high four goals along with three assists for seven points in the loss for the Thunder. Dobbie picked up a hat trick of his own in addition to a team-high five assists.

Game 5 is set for Wednesday.
