Girl’s handmade ornaments raise $600 for Snowsuit Fund

By CityNews Ottawa

Millie Ross, 10, is dedicating her evenings and weekend, when she's not doing homework, to making and selling Christmas ornaments to raise money for the Snowsuit Fund.

Millie was concerned when she heard about all the kids who needed snowsuits this winter, so she jumped into action.

“I make different kinds of ornaments, like nativity themed ornaments and special ornaments for people,” said Millie on The Sam Laprade Show. “I'd like to donate all the money I make to the snowsuit fund.”

So far she has raised over $600, enough to keep 12 kids warm this winter, according to the Snowsuit Fund website.

Ross said she likes doing this because during the holidays she likes to give gifts more than receive them.

Those interested in getting one of Millie Ross' special ornaments are asked to contact her school, Holy Name of Mary in Almonte.
