Brandt mini smoked farmer sausages recalled due to possible Listeria

Those thinking about firing up the barbeque this weekend may want to double check what's in the freezer.

G. Brandt Meat Packers Ltd. is recalling mini smoked farmer sausage with a best before date of July 8, 2020, due to possible Listeria contamination.

The sausages are sold in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and Saskatchewan with the product codes listed below:

Anyone with this product should check the best before date, and then return the item to the store where it was purchased or dispose of it.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with these products.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
