Canadian Children’s Museum opening later this month

The Canadian Children's Museum is opening its doors on May 18. 

The museum will reopen in its current form, with small changes to some of its zones, interactive areas, objects and activities. Visitors will see the majority of the museum's destinations are open, including favourites such as the market bazaar, the theatre, and the kids' café. There is also a new passport activity booklet featuring a series of “look-and-find” activities and stickers.

“We are ready and excited to safely welcome families back to the museum,” said Chantal Amyot, acting director general of the Canadian Museum of History, whose most popular attraction is the Canadian Children's Museum. “We know that our visitors of all ages have been looking forward to this reopening for a long time — and we can’t wait to see them — but we wanted to do things right and do everything possible to ensure that they have the kind of extraordinary visit they are used to at the museum.”

Capacity limit for the museum is restricted and the space is managed through timed entry tickets. Therefore, when booking tickets, families will have to choose the date and time of their visit and entry to the museum must correspond to the time on the ticket. Early arrival and latecomers may not be accommodated.

Other safety measures museum staff are undertaking include physical distancing between groups, hand sanitizing stations, and the frequent cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces. Some objects and accessories, such as costumes, have also been removed. In accordance with provincial guidelines, masks are no longer required but are highly recommended.
