CityNews sports anchor reveals reason he’s been away

A familiar voice is back on CityNews in the afternoons.
Now, sports anchor Alex Seixeiro is revealing the reason for his absence.
Seixeiro has been undergoing chemotherapy after a testicular cancer diagnosis that spread throughout his body.
“Men specifically tend to keep things in, they don't want to talk about what might be going on, they don't want to see a doctor and they don't want to book a physical,” he said on The Sam Laprade Show on Feb. 2. “In my case, I waited too long to get checked out and I don't want other people making that mistake.”
Seixeiro has completed nine weeks of chemotherapy and is now back at work.
He said he's not completely out of the wood yet, but feels good and is grateful for the messages of support he has received.
“The response I have received online has been incredible,” he said. “A lot of people have shared their stories and if my story can help other people, that's what I wanted to do.”
