Cornwall man charged in South Stormont hit and run

A man from Cornwall is facing charges in connection with a hit and run collision which left a pedestrian injured in South Stormont last fall.
Just before 9 p.m. on October 7, 2022, officers with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on County Road 2, just west of Ingleside.
The initial investigation found that a pedestrian has been walking eastbound on County Road 2 when they were struck by an eastbound vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered life-altering injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Following an investigation, the driver was identified and located before being arrested by the OPP on Tuesday, March 22.
Curry Kenneth Hitsman, 46, of Cornwall, faces the following charge:
- Fail to Stop at Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Cornwall on April 11, 2023.
