COVID-19 case discovered at Smiths Falls District Collegiate

One person at Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute has tested positive for COVID-19, and local health authorities are looking to see whether the virus has spread within the school.

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit confirmed the positive test result on Monday, but did not disclose whether the confirmed case is in a student or staff member.

The health unit is following up to isolate all students and staff who had a high-risk exposure to the person who tested positive.

Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute remains open and operating on its regular class schedule.
