By CityNews Ottawa

A western Quebec school bus driver was freed by firefighters after he was trapped in an overturned bus on the morning of April 8.

MRC des Collines police say the driver hit a slippery hill on chemin Paugan, near Val-des-Monts, lost control of the bus and skidded off the road at roughly 7:50 a.m.

The bus rolled over on its side, trapping the 69-year-old driver inside.

He suffered minor injuries.

There were no children on board at the time of the crash.
